Unclear and unjustified was the plenipotentiary representative of the EU Chamber of Advocates in Russia Alexander Treschev sued Naftogaz for Russia. The Ukrainian company wants to receive $ 5 billion in compensation for the loss of Crimean assets.

For the last three years, Kiev has only talked about the intention to sue Russia for the Crimea, the amount of the desired compensation, in total, exceeded $ 100 billion. But so far no lawsuit has been satisfied, Rashchev recalled in an interview with RT. Regarding the last demand of the Ukrainian side, the lawyer also saw no prospects:.

"Even if desired, no Americans will not help them (representatives of Naftogaz) to suck out of their finger some serious reasons that the court would have accepted and could satisfy," stressed Treshchev.

A similar position is held by Igor Morozov, member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. He believes that the current lawsuit of "Naftogaz" is "another anti-Russian project", conceived by the Kiev authorities in order to "distract the population of Ukraine from pressing problems".

On the peninsula, they were surprised not so much by the lawsuit as by the amount demanded by Naftogaz for the property that remained in the Crimea, and the shortfall in profits. According to Deputy Prime Minister of the Crimean government Dmitry Polonsky, if we calculate the losses suffered by the peninsula, being under the Ukrainian leadership, they "will far exceed those mythical sums that Kiev authorities try to count".

"For 23 years of Ukrainian annexation, the infrastructure of the peninsula, enterprises, agriculture, industry, roads, housing and communal services," he listed in a conversation with RIA Novosti, pointing out that Naftogaz follows the tactics of the top Ukrainian leadership , which is not able to bring the economy in order, so everywhere it goes and begs.

Earlier it became known that six "subsidiaries" of "Naftogaz" - "Chernomorneftegaz", "Ukrtransgas", "Liqvo", "Ukrgazvydobuv", "Ukrtransnafta" and "Gas of Ukraine" - sued The Hague demanding that Russia pay $ 5 billion losses in connection with the loss of assets in the Crimea. In Kiev, they said that a decision to satisfy the claim is expected to be received by the end of 2018.
