Spain's parliament on Wednesday rejected a vote of no confidence in the government of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, put forward by the far-right Vox party, writes POLITICO..

Vox's proposal was based on a number of allegations against the government, including consideration of new legislation on sexual consent and plans to revise the rebellion law that was used to prosecute Catalan leaders linked to the failed independence referendum..

As expected, the far-right proposal did not receive significant support, with only one lawmaker from the center-right Ciudadanos joining the 52 Vox lawmakers.. 201 MPs voted against, 91 abstained.

Vox's nominee to replace Sanchez as prime minister was Ramon Tamames, an 89-year-old economist and former communist..

Pedro Sanchez called this proposal an attempt to stop the movement of Spain forward and forced to return back for at least 50 years..

Spain donated 300 million military aid to Ukraine over the past year, Sanchez said.. euro and does not plan to stop such support while it is needed.

Last December, the Prime Minister of Spain received an explosive device similar to those that were sent to the Torrejon de Ardoz air base of the Ministry of Defense and delivered to the Ukrainian Embassy in Spain and to a military equipment company in Zaragoza..
