Russia remains one of the largest arms exporters. At the same time, compared with 2013-2017, its share for the period from 2018 to 2022 decreased by 6% - from 22% to 16%. For 10 years, this figure has fallen by 10%. Experts predict a further drop in arms exports from Russia to other countries due to the war against Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions. This is evidenced by the data of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

India (31%), China (23%) and Egypt (9.3%) have become the largest importers of Russian weapons over the past five years.. In general, Russia has sold weapons to 47 countries during this time..

The United States remains the leader in arms sales - US arms exports increased by 14% over the past five years, and today 40% of world arms exports fall on this country.. Also in the top five arms exporters are France, China and Germany.. These countries accounted for 76% of global arms sales in 2018-2022.

The largest arms importers are India, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Australia and China. In 2018-2022, these countries accounted for 36% of global arms purchases. As for Europe, NATO member countries have imported 65% of weapons over the past five years.

If we talk about Ukraine, then until 2022, our state almost did not buy weapons. After the Russian invasion, Ukraine became the third largest importer of major weapons after Qatar and India, and also ranked 14th in the ranking of arms importers for 2018-2022.

Recall, it recently became known that Iran could secretly supply a large number of bullets, rockets and mortar shells to Russia for the war in Ukraine and plans to send even more.
