Animals are threatened with extinction, but it is no longer so strongly pronounced. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature has excluded snow leopards from the list of endangered species and attributed it to vulnerable species. According to the new status they are still under threat of extinction, but it is not so much pronounced. In 2008, snow leopards fell into the list of endangered species by mistake. Endangered species are those whose numbers are less than 2500 and reduced by more than 20% over the last two generations. However, when calculating snow leopards, instead of the total number of individuals, the effective size of the population was indicated-the number of individuals directly involved in the creation of the next generation.

In total, the number of adult animals was more than four thousand.

Pandas have ceased to be an endangered species Snow leopards live in 12 countries of Central Asia, the International Union for Conservation of Nature estimates their numbers today at 7367-7884 individuals. A threat to them is represented by poachers killing animals for their fur. Another problem is loss of habitat due to climate change and human settlement.
