Former French presidential candidate Benois Amon of the Socialists announced the creation of a new political movement. Amon urged all the leftists to join his movement in order to restart the "left" in the country, writes The Local.

Amon, who took the fifth place in the election with a result of 6.36%, announced the launch of the party on July 1, after the parliamentary elections.

It is expected that the Socialists will crash in the parliamentary elections and will receive an insignificant number of seats in the parliament.

Earlier it was reported that former French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said that he wants to join the party of the newly elected President Emmanuel Macron and go from it to the parliamentary elections in June. Waltz also urged his former colleagues in the Socialist Party to follow their example, emphasizing the similarity of many program points among parties.
