Today at the sitting of the Polish Sejm the deputies will begin work on updating the resolution on employment support, which will significantly change the conditions under which Polish firms hire employees from Ukraine.

This is written by Rzeczpospolita, adding that entrepreneurs will no longer be able to apply for visas for Ukrainians, Belarusians, Russians, Georgians, Moldovans and Armenians. Since January 1, 2018 for this will have to pay about 30 zl. At first glance, the amount is not large, but for companies that hire several hundred foreigners, it can be significant. Half of this amount will remain the power of the Povita, which will make data on the employment of an alien in a special central register.

One of the goals of this reform was the creation of an effective monitoring system for employees who travel from Ukraine and other neighboring countries to Poland. Last year, Polish companies asked for visas for 1.3 million foreigners. Most of them were citizens of Ukraine. But according to official data, only 300,000 foreign workers registered in government departments. The rest worked illegally. After the reform, the Polish Border Guard Service and the State Labor Inspectorate will monitor the legality of the employment of Ukrainians in Poland.

"The biggest pain of entrepreneurs will be bureaucratic problems. In some voivodeships, the queue for ordinary work permits lasts for 6 months. Therefore, in the process of introducing changes, much will depend on the willingness of administrations, "says expert Robert Lisitsky.

Earlier, the strategic director of the Warsaw Enterprise Institute Andrzej Talaga wrote on the pages of Rzeczpospolita that Ukrainians have become almost ideal immigrants for Poland because of the similarity of languages, cultures, and also because of diligence. The problems with immigrants in Western Europe demonstrate that it is not worthwhile to accept foreigners, to whom the society does not approve. This can cause political tension and social conflicts. But polls show that Poles are loyal to immigrants from Ukraine.

Gazeta Wyborcza wrote that Poland will have to compete for Ukrainian Zarobitchans. The publication notes that soon Poland may lose Ukrainian workers. After all, representatives of EU countries in November supported the abolition of visas for Ukraine. This means that more people will be free to travel around Europe. This does not mean unhindered access to the European labor market. However, those who now work in Poland, can decide to move to the richer countries of Western Europe.
