Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov appointed ex-Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and former head of Ukravtodor Alexander Kubrakov as his advisor on a voluntary basis. The head of the defense department announced this on Facebook on Tuesday, January 7..

Umerov is convinced that Kubrakov’s experience is important and will help in improving the supply and logistics system in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“I am confident that his government and practical experience will help improve the efficiency of defense processes and strengthen our defense capabilities,” the minister wrote.

In turn, Kubrakov noted that supporting the front and the military was and remains the highest priority for him, regardless of his position and current place of work.

“From today I will officially cooperate with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine as an adviser to Minister Rustem Umerov on a voluntary basis,” he wrote.

Kubrakov added that, together with representatives of the European Parliament, Ukrainian officials, the military, business and volunteers, he is preparing proposals for reforming the defense sector. Goals: attracting investments, concluding long-term contracts, creating international partnerships and protecting intellectual property.

The presentation of the plan is scheduled for the first quarter of this year.

Let us recall that on May 9, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Alexander Kubrakov from the post of Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine - Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine. Then Kubrakov himself stated that neither the chairman of the Servant of the People faction nor Prime Minister Denis Shmygal discussed the issue of resignation with him.
