The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on Ukraine's withdrawal from the decisions on the creation and operation of the Anti-Terrorism Center with the CIS countries.
The website of the Parliament of Ukraine states that during 2014-2015 the country did not take part in the practical activities provided for by the program of cooperation between the CIS member states in the fight against terrorism and other violent manifestations of extremism.
309 parliamentarians voted for the adoption of the law, 5 voted against, 15 abstained, 30 were absent from the voting.
For the document to come into force, it still needs to be signed by the President of Ukraine..
In addition, the Rada adopted a law on the country's withdrawal from the CIS agreement on the rules for determining the origin of goods from developing countries when granting tariff preferences within the framework of the general system of preferences.
“Withdraw from the agreement on the rules for determining the origin of goods from developing countries when granting tariff preferences within the framework of the general system of preferences, concluded on April 12, 1996 in Moscow and ratified by the law of Ukraine of November 22, 2002,” the message says..
The decision was supported by 309 Ukrainian parliamentarians.
“Withdrawal from the agreement will not affect the interests of Ukrainian producers and exporters, since the current Ukrainian legislation does not provide for the provision of tariff preferences within the framework of the general system of preferences for developing countries, so it is advisable to terminate the agreement,” the message says..
