Leadership exercise "Saber Junction 2018" announced a pause to adjust the plan for maneuvering, the press service of the General Staff of the APU.

A few hours after the company of the 13th separate landing assault battalion of the 95th Brigade of the Assault and Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, participating in the Saber Junction exercises at the training center of Hohenfels in Germany, seized the field tactical operational center of the reconnaissance battalion of the conventional enemy, the exercise management announced a pause to adjust the maneuvering plan.

As commander of the Ukrainian company Phantom, Captain Ivan Fedorenko, the headquarters of the reconnaissance battalion of the 173rd US Airborne Brigade was captured during a reconnaissance mission.

We were conditionally a captive commander of this battalion and his officers, communications, weapons and staff documents were seized. The latter we handed to the commander of the battalion of forces OpFor, in which we act.

These are data on the location of our enemy units, plans for its actions, and the like. Our knowledge of such information uniquely affects the further course of the teaching.

Later, with the nomination of Ukrainians to the key line of enemy defense, our paratroopers discovered a group of Czech commandos. As a result of the shootout, saboteurs conventionally lost 6 people. As of 15 hours, the total conventional losses of the enemy amounted to about 40 people and two units of equipment, the conditional loss of Ukrainians - 2 people.
