The first president of Independent Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk addressed the people of Ukraine, state bodies and political forces with an appeal to support the law "On Forgiveness", which was prepared by the All-Ukrainian movement "The Power of Law" Andrei Senchenko.

Thus, in his address, which was at the disposal of the "Observer", Kravchuk stressed the need to reach a public consensus in opposing the hybrid aggression of the Kremlin.

"We must be guided by the fact that the process of reunification of Ukraine will take place necessarily and at the end merge into a single whole different people. They will jointly build and restore an independent Ukraine, erase the psychological differences between themselves. Hence, it is necessary to create a legal basis for such work, to adopt appropriate laws. One of such laws could be the law "On Forgiveness", proposed by the All-Ukrainian Public Movement "The Power of Law" - I am sure the first president.

Kravchuk notes that the formula for an effective post-war settlement can not be imposed from the outside or dictated to society by officials and politicians, can be determined only in the course of an open discussion, as a result of which Ukrainian society will decide whom to punish and whom to forgive.

"Such a wide public discussion of this initiative will help the Verkhovna Rada adopt a law that will unite society and help avoid mistakes that could shake our unity in the future," he added..

As previously reported, the Center for De-occupation and Reintegration of the "Strength of Law" movement prepared a draft law "On Forgiveness", which is proposed to extend the residents of the temporarily occupied districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

The document allows to determine who is a terrorist, and who became a hostage of Russia's aggression in the Donbass.

Later in Russia they sharply reacted to the initiative of the "Force of Law", stating that the masters of the occupied Crimea would not apologize to the Ukrainians if the Verkhovna Rada accepted the draft law proposed by the ex-MP, chairman of the human rights organization "The Power of Law" Andrei Senchenko.
