This is reported on the website of the European Commission.

As noted, the Hungarian law on higher education as a whole is in line with European standards, but its amended version tightens the rules for foreign universities. In addition, the document contains some problematic provisions.

"Budapest changed the law on higher education from April 4, 2017, disproportionately restricting universities from the EU," reads the message.

It should be added that in July the European Commission sent Hungary a warning in the framework of the legal procedure against Hungary that the law on higher education is incompatible with the freedom of higher education institutions to provide services and open anywhere in the EU.

Recall, as previously reported URA-Inform, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the creation of the State Service for the Quality of Education as the central executive body, having reorganized the State Inspection of Educational Institutions of Ukraine.
