A representative of the EU member states will begin discussing the extension of economic sanctions next week. On Wednesday, December 6, Twitter told the Brussels correspondent of Radio Liberty Ricard Jozvyak.

According to him, there may be a small discussion in the European Council on Economic Sanctions. However, by and large, most likely, the discussion will begin on December 18 and will end in a few days, "explained Jozvyak, adding that the EU will extend economic sanctions against Russia without discussion.

Recall that European sanctions against Russia were introduced on July 31, 2014 in response to the annexation of the Ukrainian Crimea. Since then, sanctions, including for aggression in the Donbass, are periodically reinforced and extended.

As reported URA-Inform, the European Union has expanded the list of persons who are prohibited from entering the territory of the EU, as well as access to the banking system of the block. The European Union included in it the Russian governor of Sevastopol in the annexed Crimea Dmitry Ovsyannikov.
