Now the title will pass to the eldest son of Akihito, 57-year-old Crown Prince Naruhito, on May 1, 2019. This is reported by Kyodo.

It is also reported that the lifetime transfer of the throne is not provided for by Japanese law. Therefore, a commission was convened, which included representatives of the imperial family and all branches of government, as well as experts in the field of history, culture and law. The commission was headed by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Following the results of the 10-month meeting of the commission, the Japanese Parliament was given appropriate recommendations, and in June of this year a law was passed allowing Akihito to transfer the throne to the heir.

Thus, on April 30, 2019, Emperor Akihito, the world's only ruling emperor, will step aside, and on May 1, 2019, Akihito's eldest son, Prince Naruhito. Akihito after renunciation will be called a joke.

Recall, as previously reported, "URA-Inform", near the shore of Japan found a boat with the remains of eight people. At the same time, there were no navigational instruments on board. The police examined the boat and found the bodies there.
