To date, out of the total number of infected, there are 324 children, 55 of them with an extreme stage of infection. During 2017, 257 thousand people were tested for HIV in Kiev. More than 1562 people diagnosed for the first time in their lives, about eight thousand people are treated at public expense.

Most of the HIV-infected people, 68 percent, were infected during the sexual intercourse.

The highest HIV prevalence rates were registered in Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Chernigov regions. Kiev and the Kiev region this year also fell into the list of leaders.

Now in Ukraine there are 238 thousand HIV-infected people of all age categories. Of these, 80 percent receive antiretroviral therapy.

As reported in the "URA-Inform", in Ukraine in December, influenza caused 193 thousand people.
