“Affordable medicines”: how veterans can get them

In Ukraine there is a reimbursement program “Affordable Medicines”. The state compensates the cost of medicines in whole or in part. The National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) told how veterans can receive medications as part of the reimbursement program.

What medications can be obtained under the Affordable Medicines program?.

The NHSU explained that the “Affordable Medicines” program includes drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (including for the prevention of strokes and heart attacks), diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus, respiratory diseases, mental and neurological disorders, endocrine, metabolic, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, glaucoma, migraines, as well as chronic pain.

How veterans can get “Affordable Medicines”.

The NHSU noted that to obtain the necessary medications you need to contact your family or attending physician for an electronic prescription.

The attending physician can also issue a prescription remotely if this complies with industry standards. For patients undergoing substitution maintenance therapy, an electronic prescription is issued only during a personal appointment.

Notification of an electronic prescription will be received:.
