The Solomensky District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for 21-year-old Bogdan Timchenko, who is suspected of committing a terrorist attack in Bucha, Kyiv region, Suspilna reports.. He was sent into custody for 60 days - until May 21 - without the right to bail..

The prosecution asked to choose exactly this preventive measure, since it believes that the suspect may be hiding from court.. Timchenko asked to be placed under house arrest, because he needs to take care of his grandmother. The latter, according to the suspect, has vision problems.

The suspect's defense lawyer Andrei Serbin supported his client's request. He stated that Timchenko had not previously been prosecuted, and that he had shown sincere repentance, was helping the investigation and had given thorough testimony..

In court, the suspect stated that the Russian special services constantly put pressure on him and threatened him and his family. Therefore, they say, he was afraid to turn to Ukrainian law enforcement officers.

According to Timchenko, he met a possible representative of the terrorist country’s secret service in an online game.

“On March 9th of this year, I went into a computer game, played for a while and joined one player. We started playing together. We then started communicating, and on the same day we exchanged contacts in the Telegram messenger. They played for a while, until about the 11th, then he said that he wanted to ask me for help,” said Timchenko.

He added that a new acquaintance asked him to go to Zhitomir and pick up a parcel there. Then it had to be transferred to someone else. He allegedly couldn’t go himself because he was in Odessa. Timchenko noted that he agreed to help, but did not know what was inside the parcel. At the same time, a friend from the game asked me to take a photo of the contents of the parcel..

“I open it, take a photo and see that there are some pads there. I ask: \? He starts telling me: “Look, these are narcotic drugs, you need to distribute them throughout Zhitomir, I will pay you for this.”. I immediately said that I wouldn’t do this,” the suspect added..

After this, the acquaintance allegedly said that the parcel should be transferred to another person.

“It was already evening, my mobile phone was running low, but he said that we should go to the edge of Zhitomir. He offered me to rent a hotel so that I could stay the night in Zhitomir, and then in the morning he did it all. I agreed and spent the night in a hotel,” the suspect added..

The next day, according to Timchenko, he returned home, but never delivered the parcel. At night, the suspect added, a new acquaintance called in the Telegram messenger and gave his mother’s personal information. She is military and is in a war zone. According to Timchenko’s story, they began to make threats against his mother and thus persuaded him to cooperate.
