The posters had the inscriptions “We are fighting for freedom, not for the rollback of rights”, “My voice is stronger than your sexism”. Participants chanted: “Women’s rights are human rights,” “Hands off women’s rights.”! "

“March 8 is the first time that women’s rights are discussed, which continue to be infringed,” says Polina, a representative of the Fund for Regional Initiatives, Suspilne Kiev reports..

According to the co-founder of the Women's March and human rights activist Elena Shevchenko, the new Civil Code has a scandalous provision about 14 years old, when a girl can be married off.

" If a woman is found immoral in court, her children may be taken away from her,” the activist also explains.

The organizers of the event note that bill No. 14394 contains “kickbacks” that contradict human rights standards.
