The Ministry of Veterans Affairs informed about the results of monitoring the transparency and legality of granting statuses to veterans, family members of the deceased and persons with disabilities due to war. Based on the results of inspections in 2025, more than 1,840 violations were identified. We are talking about the status of persons with disabilities due to war, a family member of a deceased war veteran; family member of the deceased (deceased) Defender or Defender of Ukraine. During 2025, representatives of the Ministry of Veterans checked the documents that were the basis for granting more than 12 thousand persons the corresponding statuses in 60 local structural units on veterans policy issues. Based on the results, more than 1,840 violations were identified. The most common of them: status granted without sufficient legal grounds; there are no required documents in the cases; status granted under another paragraph of the relevant article of the Law; applications are not completed in the prescribed form; the cause of disability does not comply with legal requirements. In some cases, statuses were granted without confirmation of the causal connection of death or disability with the protection of the Fatherland. There were also cases of double granting of statuses through the submission of several applications - paper and through the Diya portal.

Based on the results of the inspections, local structural units were recommended to review decisions, request missing documents, cancel illegally granted statuses and correct errors in the Unified State Register of War Veterans.
