The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) chose a preventive measure for the former head of the State Border Service of Ukraine (DSSU) Sergei Deineka in the form of bail in the amount of 10 million hryvnia. This was reported by the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) on Friday, January 30. Also, a bail of 2 million hryvnia was chosen for the former head of the department of the DPSU checkpoint. Suspilne clarifies that we are talking about the former head of the Solomonovo border service department, Alexander Marushchak. Both defendants were convicted of systematically receiving bribes for facilitating unimpeded crossing of the state border. According to the court decision, suspects are obliged to: appear before the investigator, prosecutor and court upon request; do not travel outside the territory of Ukraine without the permission of the investigator, prosecutor or court; inform the investigator, prosecutor and court about changes in your place of residence and work; refrain from communicating with suspects in this criminal proceeding, witnesses and any other persons regarding the circumstances stated in the suspicion; leave your passport(s) for traveling abroad and other documents giving the right to leave Ukraine and enter Ukraine for storage with the relevant government authorities. The obligations are valid until March 30, 2026.
