“Derzhpratsi” noted that in accordance with Article 5 of the Law “On Leaves”, their duration is determined by this law, other laws and regulations, as well as a labor or collective agreement and, regardless of modes and work schedules, is calculated in calendar days, not in working days.
“Therefore, the start date of the vacation may fall on a Saturday, Sunday or a holiday (during martial law, the norm of Article 73 of the Labor Code of Ukraine, which defines holidays and non-working days, does not apply),” the message says.
Experts emphasized that the legislation does not prohibit the provision of leave that begins on a weekend, or even when leave is provided exclusively on weekends.
Let us remind you whether days when the employee was on sick leave can be included in annual leave.
