In the Rivne region, a resonance erupted around the detention of a military service member who is undergoing a course of vaccinations against rabies after contact with an infected animal. Now the man is being held in the premises of the territorial recruitment center, and his relatives and doctors claim that due to the actions of the TCC, the vaccination schedule was disrupted. He should receive the last dose on December 2, but the center does not explain whether he will be sent to the testing site earlier. The incident on November 24 was reported by Suspilne.
Detention on the day of vaccination.
The detainee’s sister, Oksana, said that his brother began a course of anti-rabies treatment on November 4. When he arrived at the medical facility on November 19 to receive his fourth dose, TCC representatives detained him on the hospital grounds.. According to her, after numerous appeals from family and doctors to the police, vaccinations were given only in the evening of the next day - November 20.

" But he was taken away and is now being held in the fifth department of the TCC. The doctor insisted on vaccination, so four military men took him to the clinic, gave him an injection and brought him back again,” says Oksana.
Risk of disrupted treatment.
The fifth and final dose is due on December 2.. The family is worried that the man may be transported to the training ground before completing the course, because in the letter from the TCC to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, according to relatives, it is allegedly stated that “the last vaccination has already been given”.
The head of the Koretsk branch of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Svetlana Bondarchuk-Danilyuk, confirmed that the man received the first three vaccines in the hospital, and vaccinations on the 14th and 28th days were to be done on an outpatient basis. She explained that the patient did not appear on November 18, and the next day he reported that he was detained at the TCC. The dose was administered only on November 20, after the intervention of family and doctors.
The doctor notes: if the intervals between vaccinations are violated, the course will have to start all over again, which creates a risk to the patient’s health. Doctors turned to the police and the management of the TCC with a request to guarantee the opportunity to complete treatment.
Without support and guarantees.
Bondarchuk-Danilyuk said that she contacted the police with a request to ensure that her husband was accompanied for vaccination, but received an answer that due to wartime it was “not the right time,” and they suggested that the nurse herself come to the TCC.
According to her, it is still unknown whether the conditions for the man’s stay are provided and whether the timely administration of the last dose of the vaccine is guaranteed.. Relatives have no information about where exactly he will be on December 2 and whether he will be sent to a training center, where monitoring the treatment will become impossible.
Journalists contacted the Rivne Regional TCC and SP with an official request and are awaiting a response.
Earlier it was reported about an incident in Kyiv, where a TCC employee, unable to contain his emotions, attacked a civilian car in the Desnyansky district.
