Zelensky posthumously awarded Ukrainian and foreign journalists

On the occasion of the Day of Radio, Television and Communications Workers, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky awarded orders to the deceased Ukrainian photographer and French journalist. The corresponding decree was published on the website of the head of state.

It is noted that the distinctions were awarded “for a significant personal contribution to the development of television, radio broadcasting and communications in Ukraine, high professionalism and dedication in covering the events of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, as well as for many years of conscientious work.”.

The Order of Merit, III degree, was posthumously awarded to French journalist from the Hans Lucas agency Anthony Lallican and Ukrainian photographer Konstantin Guzenko. Lallikan died in the Donetsk region in early October 2025 as a result of a strike by a Russian FPV drone. Working next to him was photographer Georgy Ivanchenko, who was wounded at that moment.

The same state award was given to Freedom TV channel journalist Elena Gubanova (creative pseudonym Elena Gramova) and cameraman Evgeny Karmazin. Gubanova is from Yenakievo and has worked in journalism since her student days.. In 2021 she joined the Dim TV channel, and in 2023 she was awarded the Order of Princess Olga, III degree.

Evgeniy Karmazin was born in Kramatorsk and since 2022 he has worked as an operator for state foreign broadcasting channels.. He was 33 years old. Both died at the end of October in Kramatorsk as a result of a Russian drone strike. Farewell to journalists took place on October 27 in Kyiv.



Earlier, the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting reported that 116 journalists have been killed in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.. Of these, 18 were in the performance of their professional duties.. Among the dead were both Ukrainian and foreign reporters who covered the events of the war and recorded crimes committed by Russia.. In addition, at least 26 civilian Ukrainian journalists and one media professional who serves in the Defense Forces remain in Russian captivity..
