NABU investigator Ruslan Magamedrasulov, detained by the Security Service of Ukraine, was working on collecting evidence in the case of corruption in the energy sector, which NABU and SAPO made public today. He managed to collect part of the key evidence, Suspilne reports, citing sources in NABU.
According to the source, in addition to the energy sector, there are also “defense-related situations” in the case.. “There is a large structure of a criminal organization, and a larger number of participants in this crime were involved in the energy sector, and a smaller number in the defense industry,” the source explained.

We would like to remind you that the SBU detained the head of the NABU interregional detective department, Ruslan Magamedrasulov, on July 21 on suspicion of treason and sent him into custody without bail.. His detention preceded the initiative of deputies to reduce the powers of NABU and SAP. The corresponding law, which subordinated them to the Prosecutor General, was adopted the very next day, but under public pressure, President Vladimir Zelensky was forced to submit a bill that canceled this initiative and restored the institutional independence of anti-corruption bodies.
And on November 10, NABU and SAP carried out a large-scale operation “Midas”, among the defendants of which were a close friend of the president and famous businessman Timur Mindich, Minister of Justice German Galushchenko, ex-adviser to the Minister of Energy and others.
According to NABU, they built a large-scale corruption scheme to influence strategic public sector enterprises, in particular Energoatom: the organizers received up to 15% of the value of the company’s contracts in the form of bribes, and the “kickback” was paid by contractors who were imposed on them by participants in the scheme. It is reported that the defendants managed to “launder” $100 million, legalizing them through a separate office in the center of Kyiv, which belonged to the family of former deputy Andrei Derkach.
