In Ukraine, labor relations between employee and employer are regulated by relevant legislation. Employees can take parental leave. Specialists from the South-Eastern Interregional Department of the State Labor Service explained whether a father can get leave at the birth of a child if he is not officially married to his mother.

Derzhpratsi noted that, according to Article 77-3 of the Labor Code of Ukraine, a one-time paid leave at the birth of a child of up to 14 calendar days (excluding holidays and non-working days) is granted no later than three months from the date of birth of the child to the father of the child, who is not in a registered marriage with his mother, but on the condition that they live together, are connected by a common life, have mutual rights and obligations.
