A resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region is suspected of cruelty to a dog: the man tied the animal to a car and dragged it along the road. The animal died a few days later at the Dobrodiy veterinary clinic, where it was treated. The regional prosecutor's office announced this on Thursday, October 16.

During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that a 60-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Bolshevtsovskaya territorial community tied his dog with a chain to a car and dragged it along the road outside the village.

Seeing that the animal had lost consciousness and considering it dead, the man unhooked the chain and threw the dog into a ditch on the road between the villages..

. Due to necrosis, the animal’s paw was amputated at the Dobrodiy veterinary clinic.. However, on October 16, Mukhtar died.

A former neighbor of the dog owner, Elena Pashchak, said that the suspect is 59-year-old Vasily Klyus. According to her, the man did not feed the dog the day before the incident and kept him on a leash because he strangled a chicken.



At first the man denied involvement in the incident.. Later he said that he left the dog in the field.

The issue of choosing a review preventive measure is currently being decided.
