This issue was discussed at a recent meeting of the heads of the railway departments of Ukraine and Moldova, dedicated to the restoration of bilateral cooperation, which was suspended at the beginning of the full -scale invasion of Russia to Ukraine and military threats in the region.

Chisinau railway route -Odessa has always been popular and in demand, but Russia's war against Ukraine made it unsafe: part of the route runs along the territory of an unrecognized Transnistria, and it was closed.

Intensive comprehensive negotiations are underway about the possible opening of the route. The head of the board of directors of Ukrzaliznitzі Alexander Pertsovsky believes that it is necessary to look for suitable solutions - Ukraine has always had many important points of contact.
