Two former people's deputies passed away in Ukraine this week: Vitaly Hizhnyak and Vladimir Pilipchuk.
The obituaries were posted on the official Facebook page by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
On January 20, at the age of 90, People's Deputy of Ukraine of the first convocation and former member of the Verkhovna Rada Commission on Agricultural Issues Vitaly Khizhnyak died.
On January 22, it became known about the death of an outstanding Ukrainian economist, scientist, public and politician, one of the founders of Ukrainian independence Vladimir Pilipchuk. He left at the 75th year of his life in the city hospital exactly after complications caused by a stroke.
Vitaly Khizhnyak was born on October 25, 1934 in the village of Chukov, Vinnytsia region. Graduated from the Belotserkovsky Agricultural Institute, worked as a veterinarian. He was awarded the title of honorary citizen of the Khmelnytsky district of the Vinnytsia region. In 1990, he was elected People's Deputy of Ukraine of the I convocation.
Vladimir Pilipchuk was born on June 18, 1948 in the village of Glinsk, Zdolbunovsky district, Rivne region.
In 1989, he was one of the organizers of the socio-political organization NRU, was a member of the economic board and a member of the Great Rada of the Rukh, chairman of the Rukh cell at the Ukrainian Institute of Water Engineers, chairman of the Rivne regional organization of the NRU. I didn't leave the rudge. After the collapse of the political force, as a sign of protest against the disintegration of the Rukh, he did not join any of the political parties.
In 1990-1998, Pilipchuk was a people's deputy of Ukraine I-II convocations. He was an outstanding fighter for the independence of Ukraine, an active statesman, co -author and developer of numerous bills aimed at sovereigning the economy of Ukraine and its simultaneous transformation into the market foundations of development.
Pilipchuk is one of the “fathers” of the Ukrainian hryvnia:
the Verkhovna Rada commission headed by him organized the development of the hryvnia design, calculation of the number of banknotes in circulation, determination of the structure of denominations, search for facilities for the production of the national currency abroad.
In addition, under his presidency, the Commission developed the antitrust legislation of Ukraine, laws on the development of competition, anti -dumping and customs legislation and a number of others.
