From a locksmith to a pharmacist: what professions were most in demand among employers this year

Despite the war, there is a demand for specialists in certain professions in the labor market in Ukraine. So, the State Employment Service told which workers were most in demand by employers in the period from January to April 2023. This is written by the government portal.

What professions were most in demand in the labor market.

In a professional context, the most popular among employers during January-April 2023 were:.

skilled workers with tools - 22% of all vacancies presented (seamstress, electrician, repairman, plumber, electric and gas welder, baker, electrician);

workers in the maintenance, operation of equipment and machinery - 17% (driver, tractor driver, tractor driver, turner, gas station operator, road worker, excavator driver, loader driver, milling machine operator, machine operator, crane operator (crane operator);

professionals - 15% (teacher, pharmacist, doctor, engineer, economist, labor protection engineer, practical psychologist);



trade and service workers - 13% (salesperson, cook, sales assistant, security guard, waiter, social worker, bartender, hairdresser, junior nurse);

unskilled workers - 11% (auxiliary worker, cleaner, loader, janitor, stacker-packer, landscaping worker, area cleaner, watchman);

specialists - 10% (accountant, nurse, industrial training master, mechanic, educator, pharmacist assistant, site electrician).
