Mobilization in Ukraine: what diseases do not take into the army

Martial law and general mobilization have been extended in Ukraine until August 18, 2023. During mobilization, conscription men from 18 to 60 years old are subject to military service.. But there are exceptions. So, some persons are not subject to conscription due to health conditions.. The list of diseases with which they are not allowed to serve is specified in the order “On Approval of the Regulations on Military Medical Examination in the Armed Forces of Ukraine”.

Who is considered fit and limited fit for service.

Persons with severe pathologies are exempted from military service and mobilization:.

schizophrenia;

mental retardation;

absence of a limb;

blindness;

deafness.

There is also a list of diseases that can temporarily or permanently exempt a person from military service, not only in peacetime, but also in military.

With what diseases they are not mobilized.

These diseases include:.

Mental and behavioral disorders - persons suffering from persistent mental disorders are considered unsuitable for military service.

Diseases of the nervous system - in wartime, persons suffering from an acute form of meningitis, encephalitis, myelitis, encephalomyelitis, intracranial or intravertebral abscess, systemic atrophy, degenerative pathologies, cerebral palsy, sclerosis, diseases of the neuromuscular apparatus, myopathy, dorsalgia are considered unfit for service.

Diseases of the organs of vision - persons who have serious anatomical defects of the eyelids, orbits or ocular conjunctiva, accompanied by a pronounced impairment of motor or visual functions in both eyes, are considered conditionally unfit in wartime.

Diseases of the hearing organs - if a person has persistent, complete deafness in both ears or deaf-muteness, having pronounced vestibular-vegetative disorders, accompanied by the onset of symptoms of Meniere's disease, then he is not subject to mobilization.

Diseases of the circulatory system - if a person has severe forms of such diseases, then he is unsuitable for military service.

Diseases of the respiratory system - men who suffer from chronic bronchitis and pneumonia, COPD or have a severe form of bronchial asthma are exempted from military service.

Pathologies of the genitourinary system - if a person has severe nephrotic syndrome, chronic interstitial nephritis, acute pyelitis, pyelonephritis, tubulointerstitial nephritis, chronic primary pyelonephritis, nephropathy, renal failure, hydronephrosis, pionefir, then he cannot be drafted into the army.

Diseases of the digestive system - persons with maxillofacial anomalies (with the exception of congenital ones), including bite anomalies, accompanied by impaired breathing, smell, as well as swallowing, speech and chewing functions, are not subject to mobilization in peacetime and wartime.

Bone diseases - persons suffering from severe deformity or defects of the fingers, feet; severe form of flat feet; fibroblastic pathologies with impaired motor activity, not subject to conscription for military service.

Hepatitis - unsuitable is a person suffering from a severe form of viral hepatitis, difficult to treat and accompanied by a pronounced disruption in the functioning of organs and systems.



Oncological diseases - persons with oncological disease and an established incurable diagnosis cannot be mobilized for military service.

HIV infection - if HIV is accompanied by the development of parasitic or infectious diseases, the formation of malignant tumor processes, other specified diseases, then the person is considered unfit for military service in peacetime and wartime.
