The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption has included in the list of corrupt officials the former head of the public procurement department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Bogdan Khmelnytsky, who distinguished himself in the case of purchasing eggs for 17 hryvnias apiece.

The reason for Khmelnytsky’s inclusion in the “register of corrupt officials” was the fulfillment by the Ministry of Defense of the NACP order issued in January 2023, as a result of which the official was brought to disciplinary responsibility - even before the start of the high-profile scandal with inflated food prices, Khmelnytsky did not provide a copy of the audit report at the request of the NACP.

“In March of this year, the Solomensky District Court of Kyiv investigated the fact of illegal actions of the ex-official and brought him to administrative responsibility..
