A man who exploded a grenade right in the middle of the street in the center of Nikolaev was informed of a suspicion - he faces up to 15 years in prison. This was reported by the press service of the National Police in the Mykolaiv region.

The event around 20:00 on April 28 took place on Tsentralny Avenue near house No. 21.

“At the scene, law enforcement officers established that a verbal conflict occurred between a 59-year-old man who was in a state of intoxication and a local resident.. Then the attacker took out a grenade from his pocket and threw it. As a result of the explosion, a 51-year-old woman who was walking nearby was injured, and the attacker himself, ”the press service of the National Police in the Nikolaev region quotes the deputy head of the GDNP Eduard Solovyov.

In agreement with the prosecutor's office, the investigators informed the man about the suspicion of committing crimes under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine at once: attempted murder and illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives.
