Around 20:00 on April 28, an explosion was heard in the center of Nikolaev. It was the fault of a drunken man that detonated a grenade. This was announced by the head of the National Police in the Nikolaev region Sergey Shaikhet.

“Sudden explosion near one of the houses on Ave.. Tsentralny forced residents of high-rise buildings to go out with documents and things to a safe place, they thought it was “arrivals,” Shaikhet wrote on Telegram. “It turned out that this drunk man plucked up courage and decided to detonate a grenade after the citizens, who were just repairing their car, refused to give him two hryvnias.”.

As a result of the explosion, the attacker himself and a woman passing by were injured - they received bodily injuries.. They provide medical care.

Investigators are working on qualifying the incident. The culprit will be contacted as soon as the doctors allow law enforcement officers to see him.

“The offender will certainly be punished in accordance with the law,” said Sergei Shaikhet.
