Kyiv will organize transport to the future war memorial in Bykivnia - perhaps even the metro

The city authorities of Kyiv are already considering the organization of public transport to the future National War Memorial Cemetery, for which 98 hectares have already been allocated in Bykivnia near Kiev. This was announced at a meeting of the city council session by the deputy mayor of Kyiv, Petr Panteleev..

“First of all, a separate bus route is discussed. But the task is set more, the continuation of the metro line is also being discussed. This is subject to appropriate funding.. While we are talking about the fact that such a shuttle will move from Lesnoy station, where the infrastructure will be put in order, specifically for this facility,” said Petr Panteleev.

Negotiations on financing the extension of the red metro line are underway with the Cabinet of Ministers.

Recall, the National War Memorial Cemetery is planned to be equipped in Bykivnia. For this, 90 hectares of state land and another 8 hectares of land from the property of Kyiv were allocated. The first phase of the complex is expected to open in autumn 2023..
