UkSATSE denied the information that the resumption of flights in Ukraine will be possible only from the end of 2029.
The state enterprise explained that the published long-term forecast of Eurocontrol, which is issued twice a year, is based on the current situation in the aviation industry and route configuration.
In particular, we are talking about the closure of the airspace of Ukraine for civil flights due to hostilities, significant restrictions on flights in the airspace of Moldova, Russia and Belarus, a significant decrease in flights in Poland, the Baltic, Scandinavian countries, and a corresponding increase in the intensity of flights in the south.
At the same time, UkSATSE explained that to create forecasts, Eurocontrol does not generate or use military forecasts, as well as other uncertainties, such as unpredictable economic turbulence, escalation of geopolitical tensions, and other unpredictable events that may affect.
“Therefore, given the fact of the existing military aggression of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, Eurocontrol specialists, based on these current input data, made an assumption until the end of the planning horizon — that is, until 2029. After the emergence of new objective factors, such as the end of the war and the reformatting of the route network, the Eurocontrol forecast will be updated using new data,” the UkSATSE said in a statement..
The company added that, despite the force majeure circumstances caused by the military aggression of the Russian Federation, our country is fully preparing to resume flights in its airspace immediately after the end of hostilities and the victory of Ukraine.
The closure of air traffic over Ukraine was carried out on February 24, 2022. , after a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
