Among the dismantled monuments, 28 are dedicated to the Russian writer Alexander Pushkin, 4 to the Russian commander Alexander Suvorov, 4 to the Soviet writer Nikolai Ostrovsky, 9 to the Soviet writer Maxim Gorky, 1 to the Russian Empress Catherine II, as well as to the Russian military.
The ministry notes that the process of renaming and dismantling continues: at the end of December 2022, several dozen more toponyms, monuments and memorial signs were under consideration in local communities.
