Law enforcement authorities put on the wanted list the priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) Igor Slobodyan, who last week, along with others, beat military Artur Ananyev on the territory of the temple in Khmilnyk. The corresponding entry appeared on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

A clergyman of the UOC-MP is accused of intentionally inflicting light bodily harm under part 1 of article 125 of the Criminal Code. Slobodyan now faces a fine of up to fifty tax-free minimums (850 hryvnia), community service up to 200 hours, or correctional labor up to one year.

According to law enforcers, the priest disappeared from Khmelnitsky on April 5, three days after the incident at the Holy Intercession Cathedral.

After the beating of Ananiev, this temple passed to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

The decision was made by the general meeting on the same day.. Metropolitan Anthony handed over the keys to the cathedral to the local community.

Subsequently, the Khmelnitsky City Council terminated the rights of the UOC-MP to use the land plot on the territory of the Holy Intercession Cathedral. In addition, the city of Shepetovka in the same region deprived seven religious communities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) of the right to permanent use of land.
