“If a person was detained in the forest when he was picking wild garlic, then a fine from 510 to 850 UAH, but an additional 62 UAH for each bulb for damages. To save this plant, special raids are carried out by police officers, we, as an environmental inspectorate and the forestry department. Now wild garlic has already begun to appear, so we are planning such raids in the near future, ”he explained.

It should be noted that in Ukraine, many people in the markets sell not wild, but domestic wild garlic..

It is usually lighter in color and has a less intense garlic odor.. However, it turns out that such a plant cannot be sold..

“People began to grow in vegetable gardens, just like snowdrops and saffron. But there are no exceptions in the law: no matter where you grow it, you cannot sell it.. Grows in the garden - let it grow, but you can’t pluck and sell. The fine will be the same as for the forest,"
