... The amazing nature and ancient architecture of Georgia. Everywhere - in villages and towns, at the foot and in the mountains, in rocks and family houses with towers, life passes.
This small country is densely strewn with a variety, shot by David Grigoryan on film. The author shares that "to return" to travel, looking at negatives - a special addition to it: "It is interesting to view the chaotic sequence of images - unfamiliar faces alternate with their relatives, calming the mountain landscape immediately after the disturbing protest, the gloomy silent mountains near the warm sea scenery , to which in reality 400 km ".
Photographic material in length of 160 cm, 3 trips in one country and 30 reels of film - so was born the exposition "Georgia on film".
David Grigoryan's autobiography:.
"I was born in Tbilisi in 1987. There he managed to spend 6 years of solar childhood, which was interrupted by civil war. For this reason, my parents decided to move to Odessa for a while, which I strongly opposed. The first months in Odessa arranged scandals with a demand to return me to Tbilisi, where they waited for their favorite yard, a botanical garden and friends from the yard. Refused to go to the Duke de Richelieu, thinking that this is our another relative, to which one must necessarily go. The temporary relocation became permanent, so in Odessa I spent all my school years. For the sake of fun in high school took a camera. After school, not particularly looking in the direction of photography, I decided to become closer to architecture and entered the restoration school where I did not learn anything. Working in some restoration workshops and realizing all the hopelessness of these organizations, as well as caring for architecture in the city as a whole, I tried to take time photos and stopped looking towards restoration. Soon a photo of fun turned into a main activity.
The last 8 years I do not leave the house without a camera, and in the refrigerator there is always a minimum of 5 reels of film (at the time of writing this text, from greed, I keep 35 reels in stock). To exit this exhibition, I went to Kiev, where for four days I printed 18 photos of three trips to Georgia in the period 2013-2016. "Thus, a photo printed in a manual way looks at you, not just you at it. Do you understand? !!.
