October 31 at 18. 00 at the Odessa National Theater of Opera and Ballet there will be a gala concert dedicated to the anniversary date - the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.

As the organizers of the celebration, the "Good Samaritan" Charity Foundation, note, preparation for the date is already in full swing. "We are preparing for a festive concert at the Opera House, working on the script.

At the moment, we have already shot several historical short films at the Odessa film studio, we are grateful for the support of the Museum of Cinema, "said Denis Serdichenko, vice president of the Charity Fund" Good Samaritan ".

A large-scale celebration of a unique project will consist of several theatrical blocks. In the program - performances of actors and not only musicians, more than 200 choristers. Also during the theatrical show, viewers will plunge into the history of Protestantism and see in a colorful presentation how the development of the Reformation took place in Ukraine and the world as a whole.

The beginning of the Reformation is considered to be a specific event - Martin Luther, doctor of theology at Wittenberg University (Germany) October 31, 1517. nailed to the doors of the church his manuscript - "95 theses", in which he spoke against the abuses of the Catholic Church. He proposed the idea of ??a new religion, which differs from Catholicism in its simplicity, and the need arose to change the intellectual environment in Europe during the Renaissance.

In 2017, the President was proclaimed the Year of the Reformation.

In honor of the jubilee of the Reformed Church by the decision of the President of Ukraine, the whole country joined the celebration. Now, according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 357/2016 "On the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in Ukraine", the year 2017 was declared the Year of the Reformation, which demonstrates the position of the authorities towards Protestant religious organizations.
