Since June 15, throughout the European Union, the roaming plan will be canceled.

The relevant statement was made by the President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat - on behalf of the presidency of the EU Council of Malta and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker.

"The European Union is about uniting people and facilitating their lives. End of payment for roaming is a true story of European success. From now on, citizens traveling within the EU will be able to call, write sms and connect to their mobile devices at the same price they pay at home. Cancellation of charges for roaming is one of the largest and most tangible successes of the EU, "the statement says..

It is reported that the EU institutions have worked on this issue for 10 years.

"Roaming charges are now in the past.

Tomorrow you will be able to stay in touch during a trip to the EU and pay the same price as at home, "- said in a joint statement by Tayani, Muscat and Juncker.

Recall, on April 25 the EU Council approved the last regulatory act, which was necessary for the introduction of free roaming in the European Union since June 15.

Roaming at no additional cost will be extended to people who live in Europe and travel to other EU countries for work or leisure. It will also be introduced in Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway shortly after June 15.
