Astronomers found an explosion in deep space, which cannot explain

Astronomers are trying to find out what the mysterious explosion in deep space is, which was discovered last year by the Einstein Probe space telescope. He has the characteristics of known events, but scientists believe that this can be committed by a new equally mysterious phenomenon. The study is published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters, Space writes.

Initially, scientists suggested that the mysterious explosion in deep space is an outbreak of gamma radiation or gamma-ray gamma, which arose as a result of a collision of two neutron stars or after the death of a massive star when it exploded supernova.

Later, a version appeared that an unusual explosion, called EP240408A, could arise as a result of the gap and absorption of the super -minor black hole of the neighboring star. This phenomenon is known as an event of tidal destruction (TDE).

But the EP240408A in its characteristics does not fully correspond to what can be expected from the above cosmic phenomena. Therefore, the authors of the study are other space telescopes for the analysis of EP240408A and believe that this is a completely new phenomenon. This phenomenon was recently discovered and called jet tde. Scientists believe that EP240408A may be the result of this extremely rare cosmic event.

Events of tidal destruction occur when the stars are too close to the ultra -massive black holes in the center of galaxies. These black holes have such a great gravity that with its help they tear and stretch the stars into long plasma streams that resemble spaghetti. This process is called spaghetics. The plasma stream is twisted around the black hole and this plasma gradually absorbs the black hole absorbs. During such events, powerful flashes of gamma radiation occur.

At the same time, the jet TDE accounted for only 1% of all the events of a tidal destruction and it is still unclear what exactly causes them, because this phenomenon is known not so long ago. It is assumed that jet tde arises when there is a significant discrepancy between the axis of rotation of the super -massive black hole and the plane of the orbit of the star absorbed by it. Since the magnetic fields of the black hole align the plasma of the deceased star, jets break out of it, which differ from all others that arise during the rupture and absorption of the star in a black hole.

Gamma-rays are more familiar to astronomers. These are the most energetic explosions in the universe that release into the Quintillion (ten with 18 zeros) times more energy than the sun emits. It is assumed that gamma-rays arise at the birth of a black hole in the stellar mass, when an ordinary star disappeared as a result of the explosion of a supernova, or when the two neutron stars are fused.

Astronomers will continue their observations that to reveal the riddle EP240408A and find out what caused the appearance of this explosion.

As Focus already wrote, the Einstein Probe space telescope found another unusual explosion in the early universe, which is very difficult to explain.
