Most projects to search for extraterrestrial life, such as Seti, are focused on radio signals from remote sources. But recently, scientists have expanded their search by including other forms of communication in the list, such as gravitational waves, neutrinos, as well as megastrust, such as the Dyson sphere, Phys writes. Org.

The Swedish project " Recently, a group of scientists from the Manchester University has checked candidates for Dyson's sphere found by the Swedish project.

Dyson spheres are megastrust, which were first described by physicist Freeman Dyson. He suggested that developed civilizations could create structures, large enough to cover their stars. Thus, advanced civilizations could receive energy directly from stars.

The Hephaestos project under the leadership of Professor Eric Skrisson found many candidates for Dyson's sphere. The recent find was dedicated to 7 candidates located around the stars of the spectral class M.

Such candidates may have quite natural explanations. For example, dust disks around stars can absorb light and re -expand it in the form of infrared radiation. This would lead to the observed excess of infrared radiation, which, according to the theory of Dyson, is one of the signs of the presence.

" But then you also need a special type of galaxy, which is weak in the optical range, but very bright in the infrared - the only galaxies that, as I knew, had such? Characterization is hot galaxies hidden by dust, ”the researchers say.

Also, according to another theory, the real Dyson sphere can use the radio emission to discharge spent heat. This led scientists to the idea that these candidates are indeed the areas of Dyson.

As part of its investigation, the team checked the data of the European Network VLBI (EVN) and E-Merlin, in which she was looking for data on the brightest radio source (candidate G).

So the scientists found that three candidates from the Hephastos project showed radioanalogs in astronomical databases. Therefore, the most logical explanation is that such signals, including candidate G, appeared not from the spheres of Dyson, but from the active nuclei of the galaxies (AGN) in the background.

" Otherwise, they would have to be connected in the form of a swarm, and not be scattered throughout the sky. We also realized that either all these civilizations developed the same advanced radio radiation technologies, or signals should proceed from some form of natural pollution. We assume that these objects are located outside the Milky Way, most likely it was hot galaxies hidden by dust, ”the authors of the study add.

The results showed that some candidates for the Dyson sphere selected by the Gefestos project are polluted by bright radio sources. However, this does not exclude the remaining six candidates and emphasizes the importance of a thorough analysis of each of them.

Recall that 8 strange signals from the cosmos of unknown origin were discovered. Scientists using artificial intelligence found thousands of signals from space, but only a few of them could send aliens.
