Throughout the history of the Universe, which has existed for 13.8 billion years, various powerful forces influenced matter, which led to the creation of increasingly complex cosmic structures. A new study published in the Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics shows that, over billions of years, the distribution of matter in the Universe has become less clumpy than scientists expected, writes Phys..

The authors of the study used different sets of data about the Universe, obtained as a result of long-term observations, and found that the formation of large-scale structures in space is consistent with the predictions of Einstein's theory of relativity. And at the same time, scientists found that in a later universe, approximately starting from 4 billion years ago, a less lumpy formation of matter than expected.

Scientists have analyzed the composition of the Universe based on the cosmic microwave background radiation, that is, the very first light that pierced the cosmos approximately 380 thousand years after the Big Bang.. Over billions of years, clusters of galaxies have distorted the cosmic microwave background radiation by their gravity, but with this, scientists can learn about the distribution of matter in space over billions of years.

Scientists also analyzed data on the later universe by studying the distribution of millions of huge galaxies that help to understand the distribution of matter.

Thus, the authors of the study were able to make a complete picture of the evolution of large -scale structures in the universe in its entire history. This allowed us to see changes in the distribution of matter, that is, how it accumulated and formed clumps, and the gravitational influence of matter changed in earlier and later eras of the existence of the Universe.

Scientists have discovered that the clumping or fluctuations in matter density that should be present in the late Universe are not quite as predicted.

This means that the cosmic structures did not evolve in accordance with the predictions of the early models of the Universe, and the formation, as well as the growth of large-scale structures, slowed down somehow, which cannot be fully explained with the help of existing theories.

This may have been caused by the presence of unknown physics that have yet to be discovered. Unknown forces of the universe could affect how matter is distributed over the past few billion years.

Scientists also believe that the mysterious power of the Universe, known as the dark energy, which controls the expansion of the cosmos, can be much more than expected.

Scientists intend to conduct new observations of the Universe to clarify their data and find out if they are a mistake, because otherwise it changes a lot of the idea of \u200b\u200bthe universe, in particular about its structure and the distribution of matter in it.

As Focus already wrote, the mysterious radiation from deep space has an unexpected source. Astronomers have found that the processes that create fast radio varnings are more diverse than expected.

Focus also wrote that physicists discovered unexpected properties associated with a magnetic field in a metal called bismuth. This discovery suggests that bismuth could be used because of its low toxicity to create new electronic technologies..
