The popular tech blogger Zack Nilsson, the founder and presenter of the YouTube channel JerryRigEverything, reviewed the flagship Nokia 8 smartphone from the inside to study all the components, find flaws in the smartphone assembly and share the knowledge with subscribers. However, all these tasks went to the second place, when the enthusiast opened the case and found an extremely unexpected element inside.

Of the components, the first thing that catches the eye is the frame, which separates the display module and the motherboard. To it the accumulator on 3 090 mAh fastens. This structure facilitates repair, although when trying to separate the battery, Nelson discovered that this could lead to damage to the battery or frame due to the abundant amount of very tenacious glue. Under the battery was found a huge heat-removing copper tube - the largest of those that the blogger had to meet in smartphones. It extends along the entire length of the frame. For some unknown reason, the thermal paste is not under, but near the tube, which is much less effective than direct contact of the tube and paste. Probably, it is designed to cool the battery during fast charging and the processor under excessive load.

Despite the apparent ease of repair of Nokia 8, the disassembly process itself took quite a long time. Nelson had to remove more than 20 bolts before the smartphone was dismantled for components, and the fasteners vary in size, and some of them can not be removed with standard tools.

The blogger did not show the maintainability rating of Nokia 8, so we are waiting for this parameter of the smartphone to be appreciated by the professional team of repairers iFixit.
