After six quarters of the recession, Apple managed to return to growth in the largest regional smartphone market - Chinese, analysts said Canalys.

In July-September 2017, iPhone shipments to the People's Republic of China increased by 40% and reached 11 million units, while the year before shipments were at 8 million units, experts calculated, noting that this is the best result of Apple in the last 8 quarters. However, despite the release of new models of iPhone 8 and iPhone X, Apple's success may be short and will again be replaced by a recession in the final quarter of 2017, experts warned..

The report also revealed that shipments of smartphones to China in the period under review decreased by 5% to 119 million units. The top three market leaders included Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, whose shares were evaluated by analysts in 19%, 18% and 17%. At the end of the quarter, these vendors delivered over 22, 21 and 20 million smartphones respectively. Closed the top 5 Xiaomi and Apple.

Earlier, a quarterly report on the situation in the smartphone industry was presented by the research company GfK. Experts registered a 5% increase in sales of devices in China (117 million units), and on a global scale it was sold about 367 million devices, which is 3% more than a year earlier.

In addition to the PRC, in Latin America (+ 11%), Central and Eastern Europe (+ 9%) and developing Asian countries (+ 5%) were above average market growth rates, and in North America, Western Europe and developed Asia, smartphone sales in annualized declined.
