Leading manufacturers of gaming PCs - the company Asustek and MSI - in 2018 will face increased competition from Dell, Haier and Razer, reports DigiTimes with reference to industry sources.

It is expected that the supply of gaming laptops equipped with discrete graphics cards of the Nvidia GTX 1060 and higher level, in 2017 will reach about 5 million units. Together with less expensive models, the world market of gaming laptops can reach 10 million units.

Analysts at Jon Peddie Research predict that, in general, global sales of computer hardware for gamers will increase from $ 26.1 billion in 2016 to more than 30 billion in 2018, and the average annual growth rate in the period from 2015 to 2018 will be 7%. It is noted that almost half of the proceeds will be provided by the so-called heavy gamers, that is, people actively playing computer games.

Increased competition in the market is expected in connection with vendors' plans to expand their presence. In August 2017, Razer held an IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) and raised $ 25 million from investors. Since the IV quarter, Razer shares will be included in the quotation list of HKEX, which will allow the company to obtain additional financing for developing new products and strengthening positions.

Chinese Haier and its gaming subbrand Thunderobot increase supply by expanding the geography of sales.

In 2017, the company intended to enter the markets of Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Spain and Russia and with their help bring the delivery of gaming laptops to 250-300 thousand units. For comparison. in 2015 and 2016, Haier released about 120 and 200 thousand leptopopov Thunderobot.

In 2018 Thunderobot with the support of Haier and in cooperation with Quanta Computer, Pegatron and Clevo, is going to start selling its products in Europe, the US, Japan and Korea.

As for Dell, in its plans - to replenish the range of less expensive gaming laptops. oriented to consumers in China and South-East Asia.
