Responsible for the spread of the Petya virus, hackers were able to withdraw almost four bitcoins (about $ 10,000) from the account, to which the victims were sent a ransom. This is reported by Motherboard.
A few minutes before the transfer, the attackers sent a small amount to the accounts of Pastebin and DeepPaste services, which are used to publish texts. Before that, an announcement appeared on Pastebin, in which unknown people offered to sell the key to decrypt all infected files for 100 bitcoins (about 256 thousand dollars).
The message contained a link to a chat room where you could contact the authors. In this case, the unknown did not leave any numbers of bitcoins-purses.
Motherboard journalists went into the chat and tried to get evidence that hackers have a key, but they could not do it.
July 4, experts from ESET reported that they established a link between the spread of the Petya virus and the hacker group Telebots. But who is behind the activities of this group, now it was not possible to find out.
