Taiwanese contract manufacturer of electronics Foxconn does not intend to retreat from the struggle for the semiconductor business of Toshiba, despite the fact that the Japanese conglomerate has almost determined with the buyer of its assets, Reuters reports..

"We will keep our active efforts. We will use our achievements, Sharp's personal efforts and Foxconn's global reach, "Sharp CEO Tai Jeng-wu told reporters on the sidelines of the annual shareholders meeting of Foxconn, which owns a controlling stake in Sharp.



On Wednesday, June 21, Toshiba officially announced that it considers the consortium with the participation of the Japanese state investment fund Innovation Network Corporation of Japan (INCJ) to be the most preferable buyer of its semiconductor business.. This group also includes a private investment company Bain Capital, the Development Bank of Japan, the South Korean manufacturer of SK Hynix memory chips and a bank from the financial group Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. The consortium offers about 18 billion dollars for the purchase of the Toshiba Memory unit (produces NAND flash memory chips).
