While Samsung boasts record sales of the Galaxy S8, Apple has a reason to be nervous. Although the financial indicators are in order, in terms of image the first half of 2017 lost to a competitor. In Cupertino missed the point when it was necessary to reduce the frame around the perimeter of the screen: in the end, the S8 is more like a smartphone of the future than the iPhone 7.

Local, but sensitive defeat did not leave Apple the choice: the Cupertino will be forced to abandon the usual presentation format, which the company adhered to the last 7 years. The two-year cycle (first iPhone, then iPhone S with the same design) is clearly broken: if this year Apple introduces iPhone 7s with the same huge frames, then the company's share price tears down right at the time of the premiere, and sales will beat antirecords.

Now Apple has to surprise and show what competitors do not have. Most likely, the flagship will be called either iPhone 8 or iPhone X. The latter option is extremely likely due to the tenth anniversary of the debut iPhone.

However, there are things and more important than the name - for example, the design and specifications of the device. This year in Cupertino are more responsible for leaks: before the presentation of four months, and on the web there is only the approximate blueprints of the new smartphone and the renders drawn on them. It is felt that Apple is striving for maximum secrecy, so that people for the first time see a ready flagship on stage, and not on a smeared photograph from a Chinese plant.

We can only follow the words of analysts who are either close to the company or communicate with the manufacturers of components. MacDigger selected three of the most advanced technologies in the new generation of Apple smartphones that other manufacturers do not have on the market.

Fingerprint reader integrated in the display.

Despite the fact that rumors about the much-desired option have been running for several years, Apple only in May last year filed an application for registration of a patent.

Integrating the Touch ID into the display is perhaps the most difficult task faced by Tim Cook over the past six years. The mission was no longer handled by Samsung engineers, and the first working prototype glass with a biometric module was shown only on MWC 2017.

Judging by the merged drawings, Apple, unlike Samsung, will not transfer the fingerprint sensor to the back panel. So, the American corporation will either leave space under the screen and install a classic Touch ID there, or equip the iPhone with a touch strip (like the Touch Bar in the new MacBook), or install a biometric module in the OLED panel. The advantages of the latter method are obvious - the iPhone will be able to recognize the fingerprint in any area of ??the screen. The last scenario practically guarantees the deficit of the iPhone 8 at the start of sales.

A truly wireless charging experience.

Tim Cook has long dreamed that the iPhone would be charged without a cable, but at the same time Apple CEO considers the solutions from other companies to be flawed. The manager does not like the fact that wireless charges are called, which feed the smartphone, only if it is a few centimeters from the adapter.

Apple will have a different standard, of which only two facts are known so far. First, in December 2016, one of Apple's suppliers (Dialog Semiconductor) invested $ 10 million in Energous, a company that develops long-range wireless charges. This company is known for WattUp technology, which uses radio frequencies to transmit energy at a distance of up to 4.5 meters.

The second fact is also intriguing: just recently, at the end of April, Apple patented the receipt of a smartphone from a Wi-Fi router.

Biometric identification by face.

IPhone 8 should get advanced biometric identification technology that can recognize the face of the user. This was told by Min Chi Kuo, who repeatedly gave correct predictions about the future novelties of Apple. Employee KGI is considered one of the most reputable Apple-insiders.

The face recognition feature will be one of the key features of the iPhone 8. Current models of Apple-smartphones are equipped with an ordinary 32-mm lens on the front panel. The new generation of smartphones will have two front cameras - in addition to the usual 32-mm (or 28-mm) there will be another wide-angle 24 mm.

The face recognition system is installed in the top smartphone Samsung, but it is a two-dimensional. Protect S8 can be fooled with a normal photo. In the iPhone 8 will be used three-dimensional technology, which is more perfect and reliable.

The company from Cupertino has long gravitated toward the identification system on the person's face. But the creation of such a system, however, is fraught with difficulties, including the need to develop algorithms, hardware, and create a database for verification and authentication.
