Regular consumption of cheese does not increase the level of cholesterol in the blood and does not lead to the development of cardiovascular diseases. This is reported in a study of scientists from University College Dublin (Ireland), published in Nutrition and Diabetes.

Cheese does contain saturated fats, but scientists have found that even absorbing a large amount of this product does not lead to an increase in the level of cholesterol in the blood. Moreover, the use of cheese can bring health benefits. It turned out that avoiding the inclusion of fatty foods in their diet, people are more at risk of experiencing cardiovascular diseases due to an elevated level of "bad" cholesterol.

Today many doctors recommend people to refrain from foods with a high level of saturated fat. It is believed that the fat contained in butter, biscuits and bacon increases the level of cholesterol in the blood. In fact, cholesterol helps the body function. However, excess cholesterol leads to clogging of the arterial walls and restriction of blood flow.

This, in turn, can lead to the development of heart disease, which today is considered the leading cause of death of people on our planet.

Scientists from University College Dublin investigated the impact of dairy products on the health of 1500 volunteers between the ages of 18 and 90. It turned out that the use of cheese is not associated with an increase in the percentage of fat in the body, as well as with an increase in the level of "bad" cholesterol. The results of this study are yet another proof that the cheese does not affect the cholesterol level.
